The objective of this project was to transform a one-bedroom apartment with unused space into a serene one-bedroom with an attached office. We looked far and wide for the ideal stone and collaborated with the Owner to choose special finishes, such as distinctive wood treatments. Access to the bedroom was added along the window wall to optimize the flow of the apartment and revive the wake-and-sleep procession in relation to the exterior.  The kitchen had previously been outfitted with an enclosed alley kitchen.  Walls that separated the kitchen from the living spaces and blocked natural light and air were eliminated. Custom work provides abundant storage, hides inner columns, and unobtrusively links the entire window wall together.
